Rochester, NY, September 11, 2018 – Corrosion Products & Equipment (CPE) headquartered in Rochester, NY has acquired the substantial assets of Universal Electro Mechanical, Inc. of Springfield, MA, a leading pump repair and refurbishment company.
“This acquisition will strengthen our pump repair capabilities and broaden our service offering throughout New England and the Northeast” stated Douglas Wade, CEO of CPE. “We are thrilled to be able to invest in expanding our repair capabilities to further differentiate our company from our contemporaries”.
The entire staff of Universal including former owner Jim Witmer will join CPE. Witmer will assume the responsibilities of General Manager. “I am excited for my team and I to be joining such a progressive company that truly values it’s employees” said Witmer. “CPE will give us a much larger platform to operate from which I am confident our customers will immediately see the benefit”.
The Universal name will be retired as CPE continues to expand its brand throughout the New England states. “From the beginning, it’s been our goal for CPE to be recognized for it’s people, it’s products, it’s services and the value proposition we offer to the marketplace.
